Dedicated to the memory of Jackie

This site is a tribute to Jackie, who was born in Peterborough on May 21, 1961. Jackie passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 3rd November 2016. She is much loved and will always be remembered by her partner Denise, family and friends as a gregarious, cheerful, generous and thoughtful member of the human race. The world will be a whiter shade of pale without her. Her Funeral was held in Lanivet Church on Friday 25th November 2016 in Cornwall. Thank you to all the attendees who packed the church, sang out their hearts, laughed and cried, and gave generously to the charities. Thank you for all the colours, hugs and condolences that warmed my heart and gave me strength. May you always remember Jackie in a rainbow.

At last we've got around to it! Both Marie and I love you and miss you very much. Marie says she remembers all the liquid lunches you and she had together at the pub down the road from NCP about thirty years ago. Also watching Lendl together at Wimbledon, and the best mushroom omelette ever in Bruges. And the three of us and Mimi at Queens, finally watching Andy Murray at 6.00pm after hours of pouring rain! You were great to work with and enormous and great friend during all the many years since. You taught me so much about life....and living, living to the hilt! Love you, Marie and Gill

Jackie's Ashes came home today with us. Sad but comforting to feel she is still around. Made me think of this poem " When We Remember " You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived, You can close your eyes and pray that she’ll come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all she’s left, Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she’s gone, or you can cherish her memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what she’d want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. Jax – an old and very dear friend, and one of life’s true characters. So many happy memories: the early days at VAG in Baker Street, with lots of fun and alcohol; you in your wedding dress holding a pint of beer; the time shortly after the accident when you met me at Flitwick Station driving an automatic car with your left leg in plaster across the passenger seat; the car you got for me when you were JBMD of Cooks in Peterborough; tennis tournaments at Wimbledon, Eastbourne and the O2; Easter and Christmases with you and Denise in Cornwall; the golf lessons you gave me (you were a great teacher); the weekend you and Denise came to London in your convertible car (the ‘tarts’ handbag’) and you and I played tennis (an experience never to be repeated, you were far too good for me); your visits to my office in London when you charmed and entertained my work colleagues; you inspiring me to discover Mallorca following your recent holiday in Port d’Andratx. I feel privileged to have known you, and will never forget the sound of your voice, your laugh or your smile. Rosie xxx
