REPORTING on mixed events, a mention must be made of the Chris Harris Memorial Trophy held on 21 October 2016. Chris was Senior’s Captain in 2015 and sadly passed away that year. Held for the first time and organised by his wife Anna Harris, this event was very well attended. George Temby won the Senior’s Trophy and Toni Abrahams and Jean Tatam were joint lady winners. Anna’s son Michael, who drove from Bristol to take part, talked about his experience as a cancer patient at the Penny Brohn Centre in Bristol. A collected donation of £230 was to be sent to this centre. Michael mentioned that it was hoped to start a similar centre in Truro in the near future.
The annual Grab a Granny Trophy mixed competition held on 14 October with the seniors was won by Jan Golley and her partner.
